About Us

WHO WE ARE
In 1972, an "Adventure of Faith" brought us together as a loving fellowship of Christians, desiring to glorify and worship God. By the grace of God, we became Myersville Baptist Church.
OUR MISSION
Following God’s blueprint in Matthew 28:18-20, our prayerful desire is to minister to our community and beyond by sharing the "Good News" of Christ's love as we joyfully worship, fellowship and mature as Christians under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

OUR HISTORY
Myersville Baptist Church began as a mission from South End Baptist Church of Frederick, Maryland, in November, 1971. Originally, we met in the old Myersville Elementary School. In 1976, we purchased our present property on route 40. Then, on April 9, 1978, we held the groundbreaking service for our new building. Our first service in our facility was Christmas Eve, 1978. Since it's beginning, the church has had only four lead pastors throughout it’s 32 year history. Our most recent lead pastoral change was in 2004.
In June, 2004, our church called the Rev. Steven Rose to be our lead pastor. Pastor Steve, his wife Donna and their twin boys Daniel and Nathan came to Myersville from Friendsville, MD. Pastor Steve has been in the ministry for over 18 years and has served Churches in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and Maryland.
OUR AFFILIATION
While we are completely autonomous (simply meaning that nobody dictates policy to us from a denomination, etc.), we do associate with other churches of like beliefs so that we can best utilize the resources in which God has provided. Our association with each of these groups is entirely voluntary.
Locally, we are part of the Blue Ridge Baptist Association, which is a group of like-minded churches in Washington and Frederick counties of Maryland, as well as a small portion of West Virginia. You may visit the BRBA web site at www.BlueRidgeBaptist.org
We are also a part of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, which is an association of over 400 like-minded churches in the Maryland/Delaware region. You may visit the BCM/D web site at www.bcmd.org
Last, but certainly not least, we are a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation's largest Protestant denomination, with over 40,000 churches and more than 15 million members. You may visit the SBC web site at www.sbc.net
OUR VISION
To reach out into our community in "new and innovative ways" with the message of Christ.
To provide age appropriate ministries for both children and youth.
To provide ongoing training and discipleship opportunities through which we can learn and grow in our faith journey.
To seek ways to increase member involvement in God's work through our church.
US IN A NUTSHELL
We as a Church want to reach out to the people around us with the love and message of Jesus Christ. We want to help people in our community experience for themselves the life changing power of Jesus Christ in their lives. We also want to help other Christians grow in their faith.
We invite you to come and join us for a worship service. Experience for yourself the fellowship of our people, the joy of worship, and the power of community. Our motto is "An Adventure in Faith. Come and Join Us!” Why not come and join us this Sunday?
